Amy Robach Celebrates Last Round of Chemotherapy

Six months after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Good Morning America anchor Amy Robach is celebrating the completion of her eighth and final round of chemotherapy.

The journalist posted this inspirational photo to her Twitter page this morning:

She captioned the photo, “Today is my final round of chemotherapy. I wanted to share this moment with you to encourage anyone facing this battle.”

And after her treatment, she arrived home to notes of encouragement plastered on her front door:

The mom-of-five initially underwent a double mastectomy last November after discovering she had cancer during an ABC-sponsored mammogram. During her procedure, doctors found a second, undetected tumor.

After undergoing two rounds of chemo, Amy decided to cut her long hair in January after it began falling out.

“We know in our line of work that appearance is important — and it’s important to anybody and everybody, really — and I decided I was going to take control of one thing away from the cancer, so I got my hair cut,” the 40-year-old previously explained on GMA.
